These two Trios are part of a series of Six Trios, op 83 for three flutes or flute ,violin and viola. They fit very well for treble and Tenor recorders. They reflect Hook’s typical light-hearted and attractive classical style.

James Hook ( 1746 -1827) mostly known among pianists for his lively keyboard sonatas was an organist, teacher and extremely prolific composer. Besides various works of chamber music, concertos, numerous sonatas and over 2000 songs, he has also written several comic operas.
